I first got interested in this car some years ago. I have been interested in motor racing for many years and developed an interest in Italian cars in particular. Having relatives living in Italy probably caused this. My Dads sister married an Italian and moved to Rome well before I was born. They had two children, and my cousin Daniel is only a year younger than me. We had yearly visits from them and what with being born and bred in Italy, Daniel was of course devoted to all things Ferrari.

I then developed an interest in Ferrari starting with simply following them in Formula 1. After time, this lead on to an interest in the history of the company. Through reading a few books and magazines about Enzo Ferrari, I became interested in the early years especially the Mille Miglia. This event to me is the greatest race that has ever been run. In fact for my honeymoon in September 2000, my wife (Annette) and I spent 2 weeks driving around Italy following the general route of the race. Back in Enzo’s early career he worked at Alfa Romeo and of course the greatest driver of all time, Tazio Nuvolari drove fabulous Alfa’s in many races around the world.

So this is how I got interested in owning an Alfa. I love the fact that the name alone is one of the most glamorous names in motor racing. I decided that if I was going to own an Alfa, I may as well make it an interesting one. So having discovered the Spider some years ago, I decided that if the circumstances allowed me to, I would one day own one. And now I do. Yippee!!!!!
